If this laptop was 3 years old, I would be somewhat ok with a repair that isn't covered by HP, but not for a laptop that is only 1.5 years old AND this is a known, documented problem with these laptops, as noted in this community. Unfortunately, due to this experience and lack of support by HP, I won't be buying any future products from HP.
